When you drive through the Val d'Orcia in summer, they run like a red thread through the landscape: bales of straw and cypresses. My aim that day was to capture exactly that. First I stood down by the cypress trees, smelled the straw and felt the coarse, hard earth under my feet. But somehow I wanted more. So I decided to climb a nearby hill and capture the scene from above. Viewed from above, it was a completely different, organized scene with clear groups of these typical Tuscan elements.

A little later, I even came across an eagle there. How much more beautiful must his view have been?
